BLESS / Gravity Casting

Gravity casting.
One connected route.

BLESS offers gravity aluminum casting with in-house tooling and follow-on CNC machining and coating. Your component drawing sets the material, interfaces and inspection requirements.

The route starts
with the requirement

Gravity casting relies on gravity to fill the mold. Suitability is reviewed with the geometry, tooling, material, production needs and acceptance criteria rather than inferred from the filling method alone.

  • Component definitionProvide the part drawing, intended application and the interfaces with the rest of the assembly.
  • Material specificationState the alloy designation and standard, or mark the material as an open question.
  • Post-casting workIdentify surfaces and features that require machining or an agreed coating.
  • Release requirementsClarify sample approval, inspection records, packaging and delivery destination.

Define the scope
before production

Tooling, material, manufacturing suitability and inspection requirements are confirmed against your drawing.

Review item Information to confirm
Filling method Gravity-driven mold filling
Project input Drawing revision, application and quantities
Tooling Design, manufacturing and maintenance completed in-house
Follow-on work CNC machining, painting and powder coating by project scope
Timing Confirmed per project

Manufacturing requirements, inspection scope and timing are confirmed per project.

How we work
with your drawing

BLESS connects the component requirements, manufacturing route and agreed checks in one project discussion.

01 / UNDERSTAND

Read the requirement

Review the drawing revision, application, functional features and open questions.

DECISION MADE

Which dimensions and interfaces matter?

02 / PLAN

Define the route

Align the casting process, tooling, CNC machining, coating and inspection scope.

DECISION MADE

What needs confirming before production?

03 / MAKE

Produce the part

Complete the agreed manufacturing route around the approved drawing.

DECISION MADE

Which steps affect fit and finish?

04 / PROVE

Check and hand over

Inspect the agreed features, prepare requested reports and pack for transit.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between low pressure casting and gravity casting?

Low pressure casting uses applied pressure to move molten metal into the mold. Gravity casting relies on gravity for filling. The filling method alone does not determine suitability: review the geometry, tooling, material, production needs and acceptance criteria together.

Can an aluminum casting also require CNC machining?

Yes. Casting establishes the basic component shape; CNC machining may be specified for features such as mating faces, bores and threads. Mark these requirements on the drawing, including datums and dimensional requirements, so casting and machining can be discussed as one project.

What should overseas procurement teams clarify before ordering?

Clarify the drawing revision, quantities, sample approval requirements, inspection records, packaging and requested delivery destination. Ask for project-specific confirmation of commercial terms and timing. A requested delivery date should not be treated as a confirmed lead time.
