BLESS / Low Pressure Casting

Low pressure casting.
Planned around your part.

BLESS provides low pressure aluminum casting in Taicang, China, with in-house tooling, CNC machining and coating. The drawing, component geometry and acceptance requirements define the project discussion.

The route starts
with the requirement

Low pressure casting uses applied pressure to move molten metal into the mold. That filling method is one part of the decision: the geometry, material, tooling and acceptance criteria need to be reviewed together.

  • Part geometryShare the overall drawing, section changes, internal features and the interfaces that must be controlled.
  • Tooling requirementsDiscuss tooling design, manufacture and maintenance with the drawing revision and sample approval requirements.
  • Machined featuresIdentify mating faces, bores, threads, datums and dimensional requirements for the CNC route.
  • Inspection scopeState material, dimensional and other inspection records required for acceptance.

Define the scope
before production

Tooling, material, manufacturing suitability and inspection requirements are confirmed against your drawing.

Review item Information to confirm
Drawing Revision, geometry, interfaces and critical dimensions
Material Specified alloy designation and applicable standard
Secondary work CNC machining, painting or powder coating as agreed
Acceptance Inspection methods and required reports agreed for the project
Timing Confirmed per project

Manufacturing requirements, inspection scope and timing are confirmed per project.

How we work

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between low pressure casting and gravity casting?

Low pressure casting uses applied pressure to move molten metal into the mold. Gravity casting relies on gravity for filling. The filling method alone does not determine suitability: review the geometry, tooling, material, production needs and acceptance criteria together.

Can an aluminum casting also require CNC machining?

Yes. Casting establishes the basic component shape; CNC machining may be specified for features such as mating faces, bores and threads. Mark these requirements on the drawing, including datums and dimensional requirements, so casting and machining can be discussed as one project.

How should I specify material and inspection for custom aluminum components?

State the alloy designation and applicable standard if your design already specifies them. List critical dimensions, surface conditions and the checks or records you require. Material availability, manufacturing suitability and the inspection scope need to be confirmed for the individual project.
