BLESS / CASTING

Two casting routes.
One project brief.

BLESS provides low pressure and gravity aluminum casting with in-house tooling, CNC machining and coating. The drawing and project requirements guide the route discussion.

Start with
the filling approach

Review both approaches with the geometry, tooling, material, production needs and acceptance criteria.

Low Pressure Casting workshop equipment

Low Pressure Casting

Low pressure casting uses applied pressure to move molten metal into the mold. That filling method is one part of the decision: the geometry, material, tooling and acceptance criteria need to be reviewed together.

Gravity Casting workshop equipment

Gravity Casting

Gravity casting relies on gravity to fill the mold. Suitability is reviewed with the geometry, tooling, material, production needs and acceptance criteria rather than inferred from the filling method alone.

How we work
with your drawing

BLESS connects the component requirements, manufacturing route and agreed checks in one project discussion.

01 / UNDERSTAND

Read the requirement

Review the drawing revision, application, functional features and open questions.

DECISION MADE

Which dimensions and interfaces matter?

02 / PLAN

Define the route

Align the casting process, tooling, CNC machining, coating and inspection scope.

DECISION MADE

What needs confirming before production?

03 / MAKE

Produce the part

Complete the agreed manufacturing route around the approved drawing.

DECISION MADE

Which steps affect fit and finish?

04 / PROVE

Check and hand over

Inspect the agreed features, prepare requested reports and pack for transit.

DECISION MADE

What evidence travels with the order?

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between low pressure casting and gravity casting?

Low pressure casting uses applied pressure to move molten metal into the mold. Gravity casting relies on gravity for filling. The filling method alone does not determine suitability: review the geometry, tooling, material, production needs and acceptance criteria together.

Can an aluminum casting also require CNC machining?

Yes. Casting establishes the basic component shape; CNC machining may be specified for features such as mating faces, bores and threads. Mark these requirements on the drawing, including datums and dimensional requirements, so casting and machining can be discussed as one project.

How should I specify material and inspection for custom aluminum components?

State the alloy designation and applicable standard if your design already specifies them. List critical dimensions, surface conditions and the checks or records you require. Material availability, manufacturing suitability and the inspection scope need to be confirmed for the individual project.
