BLESS / DRAWING GUIDES

What to send for a casting quote

A useful aluminum casting inquiry includes the drawing revision, application, material, quantities, critical features, surface requirements and inspection records. Clearly identify any item that is undecided.

Send the current drawing revision

Provide a drawing with its revision and describe the intended application. Identify the functional interfaces and the dimensions that matter to assembly. A CAD model and drawing can be discussed together when available.

Define material and secondary work

State the required alloy designation and applicable standard if your design specifies them. Identify machining, surface requirements and the checks or records you require. Items that remain open should be marked for discussion.

Explain the project stage

Describe estimated order quantities, sample approval requirements and the delivery destination. Timing and commercial terms need project-specific confirmation; a requested date is not a confirmed lead time.

State what must accompany the order

Tell BLESS which material, dimensional or mechanical-property reports you need. Include packaging and acceptance requirements so they can be discussed before production.

Frequently asked questions

What does a custom aluminum casting supplier need to quote an OEM component?

Provide a drawing with its revision, the intended application, estimated order quantity and project stage. Identify the required material specification, critical dimensions, machining, surface requirements and inspection records. If an item is undecided, mark it for discussion rather than assuming a standard specification.

Can BLESS review a project before the drawing is final?

Start with the information available: the part application, known interfaces, an initial drawing or a description. Clearly identify dimensions, material choices and other requirements that remain open. An initial discussion is not a confirmed manufacturing specification or quotation.

What should overseas procurement teams clarify before ordering?

Clarify the drawing revision, quantities, sample approval requirements, inspection records, packaging and requested delivery destination. Ask for project-specific confirmation of commercial terms and timing. A requested delivery date should not be treated as a confirmed lead time.
